Weekend Wants

What a wonderful weekend thus far! This morning, the hubs and I braved it out of bed before 8:30 (which is early for us on the weekend) and went over to the farmers market a Cherry Creek. We had never been to one before and my brother in law and his girlfriend had recommended we go. I thought it was going to be a bunch of produce stands but I was wrong. There were tons of local vendors that sold everything from jellies and spices to homemade salsa and organic dog food.  There was a "Biscuit Bus" that had homemade biscuits, biscuit sandwiches, really anything "biscuit" you could think of. We both ordered a biscuit with honey butter and raspberry jelly and it was delicious! We ended up buying some sweet corn, homemade chips (which I am snacking on as I blog), homemade dip mixes and some asian marinades for chicken and beef. I can't wait to try all all of our stuff!

On the way home, we stopped at the infamous Pinkberry. It was our first trip there and we're hooked. Too bad there isn't one close to home. I ordered the coconut frozen yogurt with fresh coconut topping, blueberries and Fruity Pebbles. It seems like an odd combination, but it was so good! Our last stop was to Nordstrom. I had to make a return and get some tennis shoes from the anniversary sale before it ends tomorrow. They are so comfy! It's been a great sale!

Here's this weeks edition of Weekend Wants

My New Boots!

Last night when I got home, I had a surprise waiting for me at the door. It was a new pair of Jessica Simpson boots! I know its crazy thinking about boots in July, but I jumped at the opportunity during the Nordstrom Anniversary sale (a whopping 60 bucks less)! I am tempted to go back and purchase one more pair before the sale ends Sunday.

Did you purchase anything during the Anniversary?
If so, what goodies did you snag?

Rainy Day OOTD

Today, I made a trip to American Apparel to see what all the hype was about. They had tons of cute basics (some were a little overpriced though). I did manage to walk away with a few items!

This is so cute on and VERY comfortable! I just love the pockets! I paired this with some tops in my closet and its very versatile!

I also got a few headbands (one of which is featured in today's OOTD).

On my way home the clouds started rolling in and it was getting pretty dark. I rushed home and luckily had a enough time to snap some OOTD pictures before it started down pouring. I really hope if clears up soon. We're going to my brother in laws for a barbecue tonight and it won't be much a of a barbecue if we get rained out. I guess we need it though. Our yard is looking pretty pathetic. My new Jessica Simpson boots should be arriving tonight. I will get some pictures up tomorrow! Have a good evening everyone!

The Romper Room OOTD

Rompers aren't everyone's cup of tea, and they certainly weren't mine. That is, until I wondered into Forever 21 and tried one on just to say "I did". I was surprised at how much I liked this one (not to mention the $19.95 price tag). It came with a Chambray belt, but I prefered the Anthro Snakebite belt with this get-up. I just picked up this necklace and these pumps from the anniversary sale at Nordstrom. I thought they paired together nicely with my romper.

What are your thoughts on rompers? Love 'em? Own one? Do you want to throw eggs at me since you think rompers are that awful?

Sinful Sunday- To Buy or Not to Buy?

I have been eyeing a pair of Tweed shorts at Nordstrom. First of all, they are so cute! Second, they are on sale (but only for one more week). Of course, if I ask my husband whether or not I should get them he'd say no to save money. But I think they are adorable. Only thing is, I'm not sure how they fit with anything in my closet.

What are your thoughts?

 How would you style them?

Should they come home with me?

By the way, I just purchased these boots in the dark brown color and now considering getting this color instead...

I. Hate. Flying. Standby.

Last night, I was so excited to hop on a plane to see my family in Grand Rapids, MI. Since it's such a small town, tickets there are not cheap to say the least. My father in law is a pilot for United and we decided to fly standby to save about $500.00 in tickets. I was so confident that my husband and I would get on a plane with no problems. I mean who in the hell visits Grand Rapids, Michigan, right? Apparently everyone. We missed the direct flight as it was overbooked by 10 people. We then proceeded to try and catch two flights to Chicago and were number 36 and 37 on the standby list! After six hours at the airport, we headed back home thinking we'd have a better chance this morning. Wrong. When we checked the numbers for the morning flights, they were twice as bad as last nights.

I am so bummed that we weren't able to get to Michigan. My mom moved there about 2 years ago and my entire family lives there and I miss them all so much. I wish tickets there didn't cost an arm and a leg.

Today, after learning that there was a snowball's chance in hell getting to MI, we headed to the casinos in Black Hawk, Colorado for for a little fun on our vacation day. The hubs lost $110.00 and I lost $15.00. It's not as fun playing at a casino when you're losing, that's for damn sure.

Tomorrow, we are going to go see Inception. I am very excited to see it. It's gotten wonderful reviews so far. Have you seen it yet? What did you think?

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! I'll leave you with an OOTD...

Cute Little Summer Dress OOTD

Why do weekends always have to fly by so fast? Saturday, I finally got my laptop back from Apple! I got the house about 75% cleaned and did tons of organizing. Yesterday, we headed over to my in-laws house. My husband was helping tile their living room and I got to make a tile mosaic flower pot with the leftover tile scraps. I can't wait to see how it turns out! I'll post pictures of my work of art ;)

As I was going through my closet deciding what to put on my blog sale (which will be posted tomorrow!), I came across this cute little dress that I bought from Nordies about 3 years ago. It is the most comfortable, flowy, summery dress I own and I am so glad I brought it back into my life!
