My New Boots!

Last night when I got home, I had a surprise waiting for me at the door. It was a new pair of Jessica Simpson boots! I know its crazy thinking about boots in July, but I jumped at the opportunity during the Nordstrom Anniversary sale (a whopping 60 bucks less)! I am tempted to go back and purchase one more pair before the sale ends Sunday.

Did you purchase anything during the Anniversary?
If so, what goodies did you snag?

Rainy Day OOTD

Today, I made a trip to American Apparel to see what all the hype was about. They had tons of cute basics (some were a little overpriced though). I did manage to walk away with a few items!

This is so cute on and VERY comfortable! I just love the pockets! I paired this with some tops in my closet and its very versatile!

I also got a few headbands (one of which is featured in today's OOTD).

On my way home the clouds started rolling in and it was getting pretty dark. I rushed home and luckily had a enough time to snap some OOTD pictures before it started down pouring. I really hope if clears up soon. We're going to my brother in laws for a barbecue tonight and it won't be much a of a barbecue if we get rained out. I guess we need it though. Our yard is looking pretty pathetic. My new Jessica Simpson boots should be arriving tonight. I will get some pictures up tomorrow! Have a good evening everyone!

I. Hate. Flying. Standby.

Last night, I was so excited to hop on a plane to see my family in Grand Rapids, MI. Since it's such a small town, tickets there are not cheap to say the least. My father in law is a pilot for United and we decided to fly standby to save about $500.00 in tickets. I was so confident that my husband and I would get on a plane with no problems. I mean who in the hell visits Grand Rapids, Michigan, right? Apparently everyone. We missed the direct flight as it was overbooked by 10 people. We then proceeded to try and catch two flights to Chicago and were number 36 and 37 on the standby list! After six hours at the airport, we headed back home thinking we'd have a better chance this morning. Wrong. When we checked the numbers for the morning flights, they were twice as bad as last nights.

I am so bummed that we weren't able to get to Michigan. My mom moved there about 2 years ago and my entire family lives there and I miss them all so much. I wish tickets there didn't cost an arm and a leg.

Today, after learning that there was a snowball's chance in hell getting to MI, we headed to the casinos in Black Hawk, Colorado for for a little fun on our vacation day. The hubs lost $110.00 and I lost $15.00. It's not as fun playing at a casino when you're losing, that's for damn sure.

Tomorrow, we are going to go see Inception. I am very excited to see it. It's gotten wonderful reviews so far. Have you seen it yet? What did you think?

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! I'll leave you with an OOTD...

100 Followers and an Anniversary OOTD!

When I began my blog in April it was created out of shear boredom. I just wanted to post/catalog my OOTD's and write about whatever was on my mind. I NEVER fathomed having 100 followers- NEVER in a ba-jillion years. I'd like to thank all of my readers for sticking around. It's kinda cool when people care about what you have to say/post :)

I will be posting a giveaway on Sunday for my 100 Follower Milestone, so be sure to check it out!

Yesterday was our anniversary. For lunch, the hubs and I went on a bike ride to a nearby park and he packed a picnic. It was very sweet! For dinner we went to our favorite place- The Melting Pot! I got a Nordstrom gift card (the hubby knows all about that "damned" Anniversary sale). I ended up getting him a universal remote that he had to have. I've never seen someone spend 2 hours playing with/setting up a remote control. At least I know he loved it!

Here is my Anniversary OOTD. I went the wavy hair route and I must admit I like it! I may have to do this more often (even though the husband isn't too crazy about it).

Here's what I snagged!

Pretty in Pink OOTD

This morning was our senior farewell assembly at the school. It was so sad to see the seniors leave :) I am going to miss them so much! It was an early morning though... I went to sleep around 2 and got up around 5:30. I am feeling the effects now. So could use a nap- but I won't be done with work until around 10/11 tonight :(

I just bought my first pair of printed shorts and I love them! It is gorgeous outside and I was so excited to break out some shorts for the 2nd time this week. No snow in this forecast!

Don't mind the cat's legs... She does this every day!

No More Snow OOTD

I was able to take the camera outside today since all the snow was already melted. I don't think I mentioned that I got a remote for my DSLR camera. Boy does it make taking OOTD pictures so much easier! No more setting it for self timer, running, making a pose, fixing hair and waiting forever or getting the wrong picture and having to redo the whole process! I recommend a wireless remote for your camera if you don't have one already!

I'm on the road most of today. Today is my trip to Sterling, Colorado (over 3 hours away from me). Not sure how my sales territory was created, but whatever. The drive is actually quite peaceful- just me and the road (and lots of cows). Nothing like cranking the music up, singing at the top of my lungs and not having one other car in sight.

Flowers in her hair....

So here I am- 11:09pm and I just got finished with work for the day (I've been working since 9am). If my post doesn't make sense its because I'm a tired gal! I got another present from the UPS driver today which I will be featuring in tomorrows OOTD ( I took today's OOTD pics before I received my new goodies).  I can't wait to show them off!

I am in the midst of getting my butt back into shape. I took a small break this evening and walked about 3.5 miles tonight with the hubs. It was so nice out! Hopefully I will make it into a habit :) Next time I will have to bring my camera along and get some pics of one of Colorado's many beautiful sunsets.

Start sending in your questions for this weeks FAQ. Also, watch for that GIVEAWAY... only 4 more readers!!!

Case of the Mondays...

Why must weekends go so fast? I am seriously dreading the rest of this week. I am in sales and my busy season just bit me in the ass. I'm guessing its going to be a 60 hour work week - yuck!

To brighten my day, the UPS truck made a stop to my house with my Forever 21 purchases. Today I am featuring one of the blazers I bought. If I can just make it through this week, life will be good again!

Big news though- I am getting closer to 50 followers and when that happens... it's GIVEAWAY time!
You won't want to miss out, so stay tuned!

The Fitting Room Folies...

So yesterday I took a trip to good ol' Park Meadows mall for some retail therapy. I've got some reviews and photos to share of my finds!

1st Stop- Forever 21

There is rarely a day I am in the mood to shuffle through the disorganized chaos of F21. I guess yesterday I was feeling rambunctious and decided to go on a treasure hunt (aka shopping at F21). I actually found some really cute items (unfortunately not all in my size, so now I'll have to order online). I don't have fitting room pics of these since none were my size.

In case you're wondering why not...There's no way in hell I'm going to post pics of "The Pretty Pauper a la Stuffed Sausage" for the world to see. However, I will surely feature these in some OOTDs when I get them ;)

Stuck on what color to order (tan, white or blush)- I'd love your opinion!

And yes folks, I bought a romper and because I love you all I even decided to take it out of the bag and model it for you. This is no "glammed" up OOTD by any means!
(This is not online)

I also bought a plethora of rings and shiny things...

2nd Stop- Anthropologie

Now, I am the Pretty Pauper, meaning I don't have lots of Moolah and am very close to running out of birthday money and having only my "monthly spending money allowance". I loved almost everything I tried on and it was pure torture only getting to bring one thing home.

I am not a fan of tees that look sleeveless from the side view. It just looked like a big hole to my armpit (ew!) It also fit my torso funny. I had to adjust it frequently to make it look "right" and even in this picture it doesn't look great on me. I DO love this color though!

I've been lusting over this for quite a while now and after the review
from Effortless Anthropologie, I was sold to go purchase it. This was the one lucky item that got to come home with me. I do wish the top was a smidge longer, but other than that I love everything about this top. It is so feminine and universal!

Zoya Dress (Size 8)

This was on my weekend wants this past week and I really do love this dress. I love the pattern and the fit- just not the price tag. I will have to wait for this to go on sale...

What a gem! This is the first thing that caught my eye when I walked into the store. It's the first time I've seen it. It fits a little big as I wore a 6 in this dress and usually wear an 8. There are optional straps to attach to the dress as well. The pattern is gorgeous and the color is so rich. Too bad I'm not, or I'd buy this dress in a heartbeat!

So when I saw this top on the hanger, I thought it was adorable. When I tried it on, I felt more like I belonged in a dental office. I mean can't you see me wearing a little face mask
telling you to "open wide"? I just can't see past the "hospital scrub" look.
It's too bad because I had high hopes for this top.

and last and certainly least...

It should be called the "Don't Worry... No Competition Here" top. It looks SO cute on the website and hanger, but is totally unflattering on. The color is very sheer to begin with. It also fits very loose and I felt like I was wearing a potato sack (even when I sized down). Its also very short. If only it was more fitted and less sheer it may have worked.

3rd Stop- Nordstrom

These flats were featured in the April catalog (and last week's Weekend Wants) and I couldn't resist. I should have them next week!

All in all I came home with some pretty sweet stuff, not to mention the things I am going to order online this week. I will feature these in some OOTD's soon!

That's all for today's Fitting Room Follies! Until next time...
