Poured Paint on My Tank

Usually, Tuesday is my official "retail therapy" day, but since there were no fresh cuts at Anthropologie, I sat this one out. Seriously, my wallet is singing praise right now.

This is my favorite tank from Anthropologie. I always get so many compliments on it! I just know this will show up on sale anyday now, but I am so glad I grabbed this with my 15% birthday discount in March.  It was worth it! Bear with me on the lack of accessories. It's been busy at work and since I am a procrastinator, sometimes I don't put together my OOTDs as well as I could since I'm always in such a time crunch!

Weekend Wants- August 28th

When the husband's away, the wife will.... sleep in! Today, for the first time in about 4 months, I slept in until 10:45. It was fantastic (especially since I've been sick the past few days). My husband is in the mountains for a golf weekend with the guys for his birthday. I have gotten SO much done this weekend. The house is clean, I'm all caught up with work and I still got time to relax! I love the feeling of having all of the things on my list checked off!

Now I'm just watching some Jersey Shore and The Hills reruns (which I never get to do when the hubby is home). He gets back late tomorrow night. I am so psyched to get to sleep in again. The best part is, I have NOTHING to do tomorrow! In my busy non-stop life, I love weekends like this!

I will leave you all with some Weekend Wants

Sick Day

Being a high school cheer coach has it's ups and downs. The kids just started school and I am always prepared to get some sort of cold or flu. I just didn't know it would be this quick! I woke up this morning with a scratchy throat and it kills to swallow. Hopefully this will pass soon! Being sick sure does put a damper on my day :(

I know I look like I just rolled out of bed, but in all honesty, with being sick and all, I kind of did. Just ignore the awful hair/makeup...

Wannabe Wednesday: Blake Lively

I adore Blake Lively's style! She always looks so down to earth, yet stylish. I love how she pairs blazers with so many of her outfits! This is one of my favorite everyday looks from her...

2 Birthdays and a Dinner at The Melting Pot

Big week for birthdays in our household! Tomorrow is my father-in-law's birthday and my husbands is on Friday. Since they are going away on a golf trip next weekend, we will be celebrating tonight at The Melting Pot. I can't even wait! Every time I go, I don't eat the entire day so I can save room for all of the deliciousness.

I know it's early yet (considering dinner isn't until 7:30), but I've got my OOTD all planned out for tonight's festivities :)

Sinful Sunday: Moda Spana Chase Pump

While browsing at DSW, I came across these pretties and tried on a pair of the Pewter pumps. They slightly resemble the infamous Valentino Couture Bow d'Orsay Pump. They were so cute and made my legs seem a mile long. I forgot my $10 rewards certificate at home (and at the time didn't know they could call customer service to tell me the code- DOH!). To avoid a trip back out there, I went online and learned they had free shipping for orders over $35.00!  On the website, I noticed they also had these available in the black color. Now I don't know what color to order! The pewter were adorable, but black seems to go with more. But then again, they are so unique, so wouldn't I get pewter...or not?

What are your thoughts?

Black? Pewter? Is she crazy? These are fug!

All opinions welcome!

Weekend Wants - August 21st

This weekend, I plan on getting the house cleaned up, washing the mountains of laundry in our bedroom and organizing the office and garage. I hope I can get it all done today. That way I can have a relaxing day "off" tomorrow. I love getting caught up! I thought I'd take a break from cleaning to share this week's Weekend Wants. I am loving the fall trends this year! I can't even wait to invade my fall frocks!

Wannabe Wednesday: Jessica Alba

I just adore Jessica Alba and her style! She always wears clothing that fits her body type and has such a classic look to her. I love cargo skinnies and saw some at Nordstrom Rack that I may be going back to purchase! I also really like these aviators. I just wish the looked good with my face shape :(

The other day I had some extra time to kill and wanted to avoid traffic, so I went to check out Nordstrom Rack out of curiosity. I found this tank top and a short sleeve cardigan. The cardi is a perfect summer/fall transition piece! I just love finding a great deal, don't you?

Brazilian Blowout Review

On Friday, I decided to see what all of the hype about Brazilian Blowouts was, so got one for myself. I have naturally wavy hair, but not "cute" wavy. It looks horrid if I don't straighten it. I have done so much damage to my hair by straightening it everyday and was looking for a solution.

When I got to the salon, my stylist told me all about the treatment. It is essentially a "straight" perm. She started by shampooing my hair twice to get rid of any residue from styling products. Afterwards, she coated my hair with the actual Brazilian Blowout treatment. This part took about a half hour. It didn't seem like a lot of product, but she did coat all of my hair with about 2-3 capfuls. She then proceeded to blow dry my hair. This took about 15 minutes. After my hair was completely dry, she flat-ironed my hair. It looked amazing after this! I was bummed when she told me she was going to wash my hair- it looked too pretty to wash! She dried my hair one more time and styled it.

After seeing how straight it looked after it was flat-ironed compared to how straight it looked after it was shampooed, I was kind of disappointed. Now don't get me wrong, my hair was straight, just not pin straight like I expected it to be.

The real test would come after the first time washing my hair. Right after I got out of the shower, my hair seemed more straight than usual, so I had high hopes. I blow dried my hair with a big round brush and it actually looked pretty good considering I didn't use a flat iron. It was so soft! Later in the day, I noticed my hair looked more oily than usual, which isn't good since I only wash my hair every other day. I put some dry shampoo in my hair to fix the problem. This morning, my hair looked alright since I put in the dry shampoo, but it was pretty limp and had a few kinks in it. It looks like it does when I half ass straighten my hair and don't take the time to make it all perfectly pin straight. I am still not sure whether or not it's okay to use a flatiron to fix this issue (but isn't the point of getting BB to not have to flatiron?)

Overall I give my experience so far a 6.5. I do notice a difference, just not as extreme as I thought it would be according to others' reviews. The thing I liked best about it is that it improved the texture of my hair. The treatment itself was $200.00 and I had a coupon for $20.00 (this is on the lower end of Brazilian Blowouts). I did buy the shampoo as recommended since it supposedly makes it last longer (we'll see about that). BB's last about 3-4 months with the shampoo, so I'll be sure to update you throughout my journey!

Weekend Wants - August 14th

Happy Saturday everyone! It's a pretty uneventful weekend so far. Slept in until 10, played with my new iPhone, and now just loungin' around watching movies in my PJ's. I will admit, sometimes it's nice to have a day with no plans. On Monday, I'll be posting a review about my Brazilian Blowout!

Have a fabulous weekend!
